The regional finalists for the Scottish Thistle Awards have been confirmed and EventScotland-supported events are among those to have made the cut.
StAnza, Scotland's International Poetry Festival which takes place in St Andrews, has been shortlisted for the Best Cultural Event or Festival award representing the Central, Fife and Tayside region. In the same category for the West region, Electric Fields Festival (pictured) held annually in Thornhill, Dumfries and Galloway, has been shortlisted. These events were shortlisted through EventScotland's Beacon and National programmes respectively.
The Regional Finals will take place in November with tickets available to buy now. Winners will then progress to the National Final in March 2019 where they will be joined by the Best Business Event and Best Sporting Event finalists, to be announced in January 2019, for an evening celebrated as a cornerstone of the Scottish events industry calendar.
Paul Bush OBE, Director of Events, said: "The awards are always a fun night and a good opportunity to reflect on the great work of the industry. Congratulations to all the events who have been nominated. Good luck for the finals."
