EventScotland serves up funding for East Renfrewshire Food Festival

The inaugural East Renfrewshire Food Festival will be receiving more that £5,000 this year from EventScotland, the national events agency.  The funding will allow the event to reach a wider audience of food tourists across Scotland and beyond and provide a platform for East Renfrewshire’s local businesses and produce.  The festival will take place from September 12th - 20th in Giffnock.

Paul Bush OBE, Chief Operating Officer at EventScotland, said: “Food tourism is a booming industry in Scotland.  We have some of the finest and freshest produce in the world and the nation is famous for its welcoming hospitality.  The East Renfrewshire Food Festival is a celebration of both those assets and gives people from around the UK an incentive to visit the area.

“Our funding this year will ensure that East Renfrewshire Food Festival is marketed to as wide an audience as possible and that the event continues to thrive.”
