sportaccord - where sport meets
EventScotland once again took centre stage at SportAccord Convention as a Silver Partner of the important world sport and business summit which took place in Lausanne on 17 - 22 April.
Around 2,000 delegates attended the event which provided a unique opportunity for key decision-makers from sport and industry to meet, network and strategically shape agendas. The convention is incredibly valuable to Scotland; enhancing its visibility among international sporting federations and rights holders and providing a platform to showcase Scotland's capacity for winning and hosting world-class sporting occasions.
The 2017 Total BWF World Championships, the 2018 European Championships, The 2019 Solheim Cup, The 147th Open, 2020 World Men's Curling Championships, 2020 LEN European Junior Swimming and Diving Championships and UEFA EURO 2020 are all set to take place in Scotland in future years.
In addition to providing an engaging exhibition stand and unique whisky tasting opportunity courtesy of the Scottish Malt Whisky Society, the team attended a packed programme of workshops, meetings and networking events to discuss Scotland's future vision.
